I’m a Good Person
Self Righteousness
Thinking you are a better person then you actually are
Are you doing anything displeasing to God?
Have you ever/how many times have you lied?
What do you call someone who lies?
A Liar
Have you ever/how many times have you stolen?
What do you call someone who steals?
A Thief
Have you ever/how many times have you used the Lord’s name in vain?
What do you call someone who uses the Lord’s name in vain?
A Blasphemer
Would you use your mother’s name as a cuss word?
Have you ever looked at a person with lust?
Have you had sex out of marriage?
What do you call someone who has sex out of marriage?
An Adulterer
So, by your own admission, you’re a lying, stealing, blaspheming, lustful, adulterizing person.
Do you consider these the ideals of a good person?
If God judges you by the ten commandments on judgement day, would you be guilty or innocent.?
If God judges you by the ten commandments, where would a lying, stealing, blasphemous, adulterous, lustful person go?
To hell
God is the judge, we broke the law, and Jesus has paid your fine to the judge.
God does not judge us on our good deeds. He judges us on our sins.
Humans take sin very lightly, but God considers sin so serious he gives it the death penalty
“ If I said, ‘someone just paid a speeding fine for you on your behalf’, if you don’t believe that you broke the law, that good news of having the fine paid for you would be insulting. But if you realized you broke the law, you went 60 miles an hour through a school zone for blind children and you realize that you have done a terrible thing and the fine has been paid for you, then that good news becomes truly good news. The good news depends on how serious you see your transgressions.”
– Ray Comfort
God can legally dismiss your case once the fine has been paid.
